Obviously, like any list, the following can be taken with a big old grain of salt. The following is far from an exhaustive list. It's merely my opinion and there are so many more venues I could include.

However, after a decade of shooting weddings in Ireland and across the globe I feel like the compiled list offers something for everyone. There is a plethora of amazing, luxury venues in Ireland that I’ve been lucky enough to have shot at. From stately manors to intimate city restaurants, the choice is seemingly endless. But here our some of my favourite wedding venues in Ireland.

Figure out what floats your boat, ask around but most importantly, listen to you gut.  

Will you want to re-visit your venue for years to come to re-live the memories on an anniversary? Is it important that your venue has enough accommodation on site for your entire crew?  Do you want a somewhere where you and your planner can really add your own signature to or somewhere that removes all the thinking?

BALLYNAHINCH CASTLE

HILTON PARK, CLONES

VIRGINIA PARK LODGE

If like us, you are a foodie, then you probably already know about the luxurious Virginia Park Lodge. Michelin star winning chef, Richard Corrigan and the team at Virginia Park Lodge offer a truly unique yet homey wedding gastro experience. But if you choose to get married at Virginia Park Lodge, you'll remember it for more than just the food. There's the Notebook-esque scenes and exclusive use of the grounds. Ceremony in the sunken garden anyone?

ADARE MANOR

If it's sheer and unadulterated luxury you're after, then you'll wanna check out Adare Manor. Pure elegance, manicured, flawless grounds and first class service. Adare Manor is all about luxury. You only do this once (hopefully!) so if you want to treat yourself, check this place out.

BALLYFIN DEMESNE

Discover a 5-Star luxury country house hotel in the heart of Ireland. Set at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the centre of Ireland, Ballyfin is a place of history and romance, of tranquility and great natural beauty. Borris house

Borris House is an exclusive, family run wedding venue in Co.Carlow. Stunning decor, an old onsite stone chapel and, oh man, the light! Beautiful and opulent no doubt, but perfect for a laid back celebration. A truly picturesque setting, like many of our other picks, you can have everything from prep through to dancing at Borris House.

GLOSTER HOUSE

If your wedding is to be one of a kind in a truly unique setting, then the 300-year-old Gloster House is the perfect hidden, magical and romantic setting.
The house is strictly a private venue so you will have your special day in this amazing house surrounded only by your family and friends. This is a privately owned country house and is a completely different experience to a hotel or other structured wedding venues.

OLD COURT WEDDINGS

For the lovers of the great outdoors. A truly beautiful and scenic outdoor wedding venue on the mouth of Strangford Lough with an on site stone chapel, yurt marquee and incredibly picturesque grounds. This private estate is home to a stunning 17th-century church, lovingly restored stables, a yurt-inspired banquet hall, a private harbour, boathouse, and several acres of natural gardens stretching down to the shore.

FINNEBROGUE WOODS

A truly unique wedding venue in NI. If you're a nature loving couple and fancy a tipi style wedding with a fire pit, lawn games and lots of room to roam in the forests, this is for you. For a truly unique and captivating wedding venue, look no further than Finnebrogue Woods. This secluded setting, hidden among the trees on the estate, is utterly breathtaking. With views across the glistening lake, our magnificent tipis offer a one-of-a-kind venue for your special day.

BALLINTUBBERT HOUSE

Ballintubbert Gardens and House is steeped in a rich history and had many famous owners in the past century. Sir John Hurt amongst them, this place is one of my personal favourites anywhere in the country. Style, romance and expansive gardens galore, and only an hours drive from Dublin.
